  1. I share your same sentiments. I hope his family is consoled and supported thru the newshole reporting of this very sad occassion.

  2. Now watch while I insert my thumb in the croc’s bunghole! Crikey, ‘at’s pissed ‘im orf!!!

Seriously, I’ve dived around sting rays, and the rule is NOT to get above them. You can lay on the sand in front of one and chuck it under the chin without worrying it usually- But a large object approaching from above is a THREAT to a ray. Steve was very good with reptiles, either he didn’t know the ray was there or didn’t do his homework. I’ll miss the crazy bugger too.

  3. Wow! What a ride!
“Life should NOT be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in an attractive and well preserved body, but rather to skid in sideways, chocolate in one hand, double espresso in the other, body thoroughly used up, totally worn out and screaming “WOW what a ride!”

I may have thought him nuts a time or two but the boy crammed more LIVING in his 44 1/2 years than most of us would in 10 lifetimes

  4. Heh. Drive your body like a stolen car … cause it is. You ain’t keeping it.

    Crikey!

Can we make Steve a shordurpersav ( short duration personal savior ) like Elvis?

  5. “Drive your body like a stolen car, ’cause it is!”

That’s about THE BEST ADVICE (and funniest) I’ve ever heard!!!! And absolutely right. Somehow, especially in light of Steve’s tragic death, it does make me question if it is better to live to be 90 in an old folks’ home, than die at 44 from a stingray (or whatever) and truly LIVE life…..

  6. For those of you who followed sports car/Indy/F1 racing in the ’60s and ’70s, you should remember Mark Donahue, who drove for Penske. Donahue was killed from injuries rec’d in a F1 practice. He’d been heard to say that we shouldn’t morn him if he died doing what he liked to do best: race cars. Said that there were far too many “poor bastards” who dropped dead, doing a job they couldn’t stand. OldeForce
