Ok, Gentle Readers, here it is: The LawDog Files, The Book.
I hope y’all find that it was worth the wait. The print edition will be out in the middle of August. Herself maintains that signed copies are vitally important, so we’ve got some adhesive ex libris plates coming in. If you see me at a signing before the dead-tree edition drops, I’ll happily sign one of those (if you’d like) so that you may add it to your physical book later.
I am collating the second book — which will be Africa stories and random stories that don’t fit anywhere else — and hope to have it off to the publisher by October at the latest.
Enjoy! Herself and I are off to quiet places far from cell-phone coverage, so we’ll check in very late tonight.
Mildly freaking out, I remain:
LawDog
fantastic!
About time.
My little community of millennials will doubtless opt for the electronic version.
Will wait until next month, myself.
At the suggestion of a hopelessly out of touch geezer, a bunch of bright youngsters have found your stuff right up their alley.
As have no plans to be in East Texas, will see how the autograph business works out.
In any event, congratulations.
You are now as close to immortal as you can get on this side of the veil.

Copy snabbled!
Methinks LawDog is about to truly comprehend the power of a ILOH book bomb today, bwahaha! Couldn't happen to a nicer raconteur, truly…
Congratulations!
I'd love to see the daily sales numbers for Friday, Saturday, and Sunday. I think it was at Bestseller status with almost 40 reviews before dawn today.
Reading mine now on Kindle. The hard copies will make great Christmas gifts for several people I know. Thanks Law Dog. Can't wait for the Africa Stories. Paul.
Got mine. I'll look forward to reading it.
Got my copy and am very much enjoying it so far. Looking forward to the book in October too.
Being a long term watcher of all things LawDog (at least since I found your blog what was probably a decade ago or so) there isn't much new in the File. But it was worth being able to put them all in one place. Now… I shall need a nice paper copy to lend out to people… and probably never get back.
…you need to get an audio book of these. Read by someone with a good, slow southern drawl, or perhaps done yourself because I've heard there ain't nothing like hearing you tell the story yourself.
Glad to see it rocketing up the early Amazon charts too.
Don't forget to breathe.
It is 4 PM in California and we have:
Bestseller status
54 reviews (4.9/5 stars)
#1 in Books > Humor & Entertainment > Humor > Business & Professional
#1 in Kindle Store > Kindle eBooks > Biographies & Memoirs > True Crime
#1 in Books > Biographies & Memoirs > True Crime
But, most importantly:
#108 Paid in Kindle Store!!!!!
HuzzaaH!
The LawDog has launched!
Finished the book the first day – my wife was a bit perturbed by my laughing fits.
I want the hardcopy version when it comes out as a gift for my son-in-law, who's currently trying for a LEO position. If he gets in, I'll even offer to get him his very own Pink Gorilla costume. He should be duly thankful there are no amorous armadillos in this neck of the woods.
Got mine last night. Read it today. Absolutely first rate! Even tho I'd seen most of the stories before, I still loved it. Communion still hits my heart. It is what Community Policing is all about. I'm looking forward to buying a couple of dead tree copies for gifts. And I want the Africa stories! Keep it up Law Dog!
I dig. Got my copy, will read it on break tomorrow. Thanks, sir, and y'all take it easy out there, hear?
Read it cover to cover yesterday.
Nice job – loved it!
Keep'em coming.
It's nice to have all of these stories together in a single anthology.
I'm really looking forward to your fiction release – and some of the Africa stories.
Ha! Surprised by the sales data? I'm not, nor is the Mrs. We've loved your stuff for years (in her case, mostly secondhand as I read to her off the screen). She's laughing away as I type this, currently reading Pogonip (sp?). So far, I've been able to predict with accuracy exactly where she's at in each story by the type/quantity of laughter.
IF you ever do a travelling book signing like Larry and get up in our neck of the woods, we'll be there, as we've been to very nearly every one of his Uncle Hugo's appearances to date, with a dead tree copy in hand.
Looking forward to the next book,
Molasses & Sweet Tooth
And congratz on using Castillia House. Plenty of SJWs are screaming about now.
Just checked Amazon (22:21 Central). The book is #92 overall, and #1 in each of it's own categories. Well done!
Loving it! And I need a good laugh this week……..
Congrats on the successful launch. Heck I consider purchasing this book back pay for all the free reading entertainment over the years…
Bought one. It is about time you wrote a book.
One of the stories I'd like to see written up I s the full version of this one: http://thelawdogfiles.blogspot.hk/2007/12/perspectives.html
Congrats and hold on. You were mention on Instapundit; between that AND the Correia Book Bomb, you're going to sell quite a few copies. But then, we always knew that.
A terrific book that I much enjoyed reading, and reading aloud to the wife.

The book is absolutely brilliant, like all your writing. I've just gotten to the pink gorilla suit and I may die of laughter.
Finished reading it this morning, laughed through the entire book except for the story about searching for the man, that was somber and respectful.
