Merry Christmas

Bright Yule blessings to each and every one of my Gentle Readers.

Please, as you celebrate this holiday season, keep two things in mind:

Memories should be happy, not perfect. In ten years your children, your family, your friends will not remember if the tree wasn’t perfect, or the turkey wasn’t cooked just so, or if your Significant Other bought whole cranberry sauce instead of chopped cranberry sauce.

What they will remember is whether the holiday was happy or not. Don’t sacrifice happiness in search of a perfect holiday.

Secondly, no matter what tradition you are celebrating, this holiday is ultimately about love. Honour that. Kiss your Significant Other like you’re still dating at least once this season. Kiss and hug your children, and the rest of your family.

Happy holidays, and I’ll see y’all later.

LawDog

And happy holidays to you, too.

  1. Merry Christmas to you and your family and friends, LawDog. Your blog is something I return to again and again and I plan on doing so, and recommending you to me and mine. I hope this festive season is good to you and the coming year brings you as much joy as you bring to so many of us. With love.

  2. Merry Christmas to you and your family LawDog. I look forward to your Blogs, they never fail to delight.
    Thank you my friend.

  3. Merry Christmas to you and your family. I hope that you will be blessed with lots of love from family and friends.

  4. Apt sentiment for all those familial trials. I needed that reminder just now (what happened to all the YEAST?! You can’t make rolls without yeast!)

My thanks to all those on duty today…

    Stay safe and merry Christmas!

  5. Yeast is minor when you discover that your antique Chinese lacquer screen has been subbing as a scotch tape parking place and there are 1/2 inch wide bare places all over where the lacquer has been pulled off along with the tape. That’s not to mention the scratch completely across one end panel where the bishop’s table has been scooted against it.
But, we are healthy-although if anyone had been within reach a few hours ago, that might not be the case, have eaten well, the Anatolian didn’t kill Junior when he bit him yesterday, Psychocat has recovered from her surgery, and I haven’t killed the Anatolian for snarling at me.
All in all, a passable Christmas.

  9. You be sure to give LawMom a BIG TEXAS SIZE hug.

A BIG TEXAS SIZED mug (full of her favorite beverage mind you)

One of those dolts that don’t want “Christmas Wreaths” given out at Arlington a BIG TEXAS SIZED slug.

And for you LD, I hope you get a nice bear skin RUG. (because you get to eat that yummy bear meat.)

  10. I have a friend who sent me a Christmas card only because she found one that actually had the word ‘Christmas’ on it. That’s a sad state of affairs.
On a happier note, probably one of our greatest Christmas joys is that it dawned on us Christmas Eve that with Nana elsewhere, we can have toothpicks and matches in the house again! Hooray!
