Gentle Reader Mike, seeing as how I liked the guitar work of Mr. Andy McKee, e-mailed me a link to another guitarist, a Mr. Antoine Dufour.
Goodness.
For your Saturday afternoon enjoyment — Mr. Dufour on the old wood and wire, playing his song “Inspirations”.
Enjoy!

Yup, that’s some real good guitar pickin’.
Is any more of his material online like that?

WOW!!!
There is a very short list of artists I’d actually fork out the dough to see live.
I may just lay down a couple biscuits worth to check this guy out. I really dig that style!
Thanks, Dawg!

Dude’s got a real thing for harmonics … and clearly knows what he’s about.
It was all well worth the listen, but when he started in on the part with the bass hammer-ons and treble harmonics that was just … damn. I’d pay good money to see this guy in a live setting.
I think he must of learned a bit from Stanley Jordan. Fine fine music & thanks for the tip.
The elves must have caught their second wind. linkee now workee….
Ah take it you done went and gone to see August Rush then?
There’s a whole mess of these good pickers on Candy Rat Records.

If you like this kind of music you should watch August Rush. That was one of the best movies I have seen in a long time.

Oh, thanks a million–now I’m about to set fire to my guitar, and make sure my hands are in the flames.
Talk about destroying a guy’s self-esteem.
Seriously, though–I really like what I’ve seen of Andy McKee, but coming from more of a blues background, this guy just floors me.
Amazing guitar stuff thanks for posting this. Have you heard Rodrigo Y Gabrilla – amazing guitar players – more flamenco but incredible stuff http://www.rodgab.com Also for guitar stuff Matt Stevens is good – instrumental again – worth a listen http://www.mattstevensguitar.com
Also Erik Mongrain is amazing.
